mathcaddy radio: Session 18

Saturday, March 1st, 2008

Maybe it was because it was Leap Year Day, but regardless of the justification, hell froze over and I recorded a mathcaddy radio session. This edition features a number of songs I’ve been waiting for quite a while to play… easy to say, considering that there hasn’t been a show in, oh… uh, two and a half years!

mathcaddy radio: Session 18

  • Midlake - “Young Bride”
  • Syd Matters - “Everything Else”
  • Jubilee - “Warm Light”
  • Avett Brothers - “The Weight of Lies”
  • Lewis & Clarke - “Before it Breaks You”

That’s how long it’s been since the last post to mathcaddy.com.

    But it’s back.

Expect mathcaddy radio session 18 to enter the fray before February is out.

After finally hearing from all five of our regular listeners that we should do another show, Steve and I jammed out a not-so-quick radio session. This one did not involve poking any eyes out, thank goodness!

We did not have our regularly scheduled mic stands, so we had to make do with the most ridiculous looking setup imaginable. (See figure 1, below.)

    Figure 1, above

And……. Woo! “Interviews With Furniture” hits an all-time low! Really! Not. Funny. Ever. We need a new schtick.

Guarantee for next time: New schtick included.

    mathcaddy radio: Session 16

    Thursday, July 14th, 2005

Steve joined me for a jaunt around the microphone this lovely evening. in a new mathcaddy radio session, hopefully coming straight into your iTunes via the new Podcast feature. (If you don’t know about it, you can read Apple’s pretty decent overview here.)

One of the wonderful things about tonight’s show was identifying how darn repetitive I am!

Just listen for it and you’ll hear it: “No kidding: awesome track.” You’d think I would have already convinced you that I wasn’t kidding by the fact that I actually included the song on a radio playlist I share only once in a great while. But just in case you are still afraid I’m going to trick you, I guess my brain just has me say it.

“Interviews With Furniture” is back and worse than ever!

    mathcaddy radio: Session 15

    Saturday, April 9th, 2005

15? That’s probably what you’re thinking. Yes, 15. You read that right. It’s not that we’re bad at math (even though we are) - it’s that there is a “missing” session out there floating around on various storage devices.

Steve and I had some guests on mathcaddy radio session 14. A lot of fun was had by all, but we ended up with a two and a half hour radio session. If and when I have time, I might chop it up and Steve and I will do a highlights show… because it was supremely longer than our usual 30-45 minute podcast.

In this session of mathcaddy radio, Steve talks about his Spring Break Pillow Street Fight Tournament, his unique and tasty Sandwichy Fajita creation, and his sleepytime note-taking. Adam shares a Wet Detectives song to the horror of all.

Once again, “Interviews With Furniture” is back by popular demand because no one has told us to shut up yet…

    We’ll see you inside…

    mathcaddy radio: Session 13

    Sunday, March 13th, 2005

Steve and I were hanging out Saturday night and decided to quickly whip up a follow-up session since we had the “studio” still setup from the night before. There are some fun songs here. I highly recommend that you just hurry up and buy the Old Canes album now. As I mention in the podcast, you will not be disappointed.

Once again, “Interviews With Furniture” is back by popular demand. And speaking of the populous, we discuss recent events involving the amendment of the sound booth Constitution to state that if anything goes wrong it is my brother Justin’s fault. (Details and explanation of this in the podcast.)

    We’ll see you inside…

    Mathcaddy Radio: Session 11

    Saturday, December 25th, 2004

Many many thanks to my wonderful in-laws for a terrific Christmas present that was immediately put to use: A mini Behringer mixer and two condenser mics! Within an hour of stripping the boxes of their wrapping paper, I snagged my cousin, Steve (site formerly here), and we jammed out this Christmas edition of Mathcaddy Radio.

Steve and I added a new section to the show: Interviews with Furniture! You’ll have to hear it to believe it. And then you’ll just think something is wrong with us. And you’ll probably agree that we’re not funny. Ever.
