[WSU Football]
Well, apparently WSU doesn't suck. Three years in a row of not sucking? That's gotta be some kind of record, right? Collin? Can we check into that one? Hello, Collin?

[It moves!]
When Lee and I graduated (the second time) from WSU, we were given a mini DV camcorder in anticipation of Tamlyn. Needless to say, we consumed the first few tapes on purely amateuristic juvenile tasteless attempts at comedy. More about those later. But yesterday I finally got a few clips of Tamlyn on my computer and I must say...dang. In fact, I must say it again. Dang. This thing takes movies at near DVD quality, and eats up your harddrive to prove it. A 1-minute movie, 199MB. So I've been playing with different codecs to see if I can get the size down to a reasonable 2Kb. I managed to do it using an old River Raid codec, but I still can't get past the 4th level. For a compromise, I've stuck with old faithful DivX, which has allowed us a clip at just over 4MB. Yes, I had to reduce the size from 620x480 to 6.2x4.8, but it's a start. So, check it out, let me know what you think. Or if you think you've got a better codec, let me know about it. And someone help me get past those damn helicopters!
[Adam's note: This video requires the latest version of DivX, available here. So go get it and check this baby out!]

[I don't know about you... but I've had enough bread.]
In fact, I've had so much bread in my life that the next time I sit down to read a newspaper, I will have ingested more little bitty things of yeast than letters that I have used in my life.
Now, that seems a little off-kilter, right? Wrong. Consider the following:
The average person eats 68 pounds of bread a year and given the average life span of 77.2 years, that's 5,249.6 pounds of bread. Now let's be real safe here: each pound of bread must contain at least 100 granules of yeast... and that's even taking into account unleavened bread! That's a minimum of 524,960 granules of yeast in a lifetime. Now, don't get too quick on me here. I'm not 77.2 years old yet. The next time I pick up a newspaper (presumably within this year), I will be around 24... so we figure out the number of granules per year (6,800) and then multiply that by the number of years I have been alive (24) and we get 163,200 granules in my lifetime (thus far).
"Whoa!!" One might say. "163,200 letters? I don't think so sport. You've used a lot more letters than that in your lifetime."
Not so fast, strawberry shortcake. You've forgotten something. There are 26 letters in the English language alphabet, right? Are you following me so far? Good job, sport. Now... here's where it gets tricky.
THERE ARE 26 LETTERS IN THE ALPHABET. That's it. There are not 163,201 letters in the English language alphabet.
26 letters is one heck of a lot smaller number than 163,200 granules of yeast.
What were you people thinking anyway?! You people disgust me.

[Not funny. Not funny ever.]
Q: What do you get when you mix a six-pack of cheese dogs with a bag of chips?
Give up?
A: Pork Nacho Doggies
Isn't that not funny at all? I'm a pro at being not funny. Just watch:
One day, I was out taking a stroll in the park, when I realized that I wasn't actually in a park. I was in a hotel!
Ha ha ha ha ha! That one doesn't kill me. It's just the most not hilarious thing I've ever heard! How do I keep not coming up with this stuff?!?
Or this, for example:
A horse walks into a 7-Eleven. He says to the guy behind the counter, "Where do you keep your fine Slurpee brand drink products?" And the 7-Eleven employee says, "They're right there, underneath the sign that says, 'Slurpees'." And the horse says, "Oh, darnit. I forgot my glasses. Please excuse me for making a mule of myself on these premises."
And zero hilarity ensues...

[One for the road]
Okay... I'm almost done. But before I go, I have to mention this guy. (No, it's not this guy who I mentioned a coupla posts ago.)
It's Whitebread Ford. I just saw the movie last week. It's great. I'm not even kidding one ounce. I was skimming through channels at about 4:00 or 5:00 last Monday and came across a movie on the cable access channel. I'm a big fan of homemade movies in general... and I love cable access here because I know the guy who runs it locally and he tries to put creative stuff on there.
It takes a whole lot to beat "Wazzu" the incredibly hilarious WSU Cable 8 weekly soap opera/sitcom, but I think Whitebread Ford takes the cake.
So... anyway, there's this movie on (it was very well done, although clearly on a camcorder). I started watching it and got hooked. It was maybe an hour and I came in a little bit into it. It's about this middle-class guy who quits his job and just decides to play the blues. And he sings about things that real people care about. For example, he sings about his jet ski's battery being dead, mortgages, and "things people really care about," as he puts it.
The guy actually has some very well-done songs and the movie was just hilarious. I can't wait 'til it's on TV again... I'm going to record it. No kidding.
Big up to Whitebread Ford's creator, wherever you are. Man, I have always wanted to say, "big up." I think I'm going to start saying that more often.

[Oh yeah!! NEW Look Featuring...]
In case you didn't know it... Tamlyn's daddy made that nifty penguin a coupla years ago. That @#$*! stupid thing kept creaming me in Half-Life... just gliding around with no animation whatsover, just lookin' all penguiny (as well as creepy and menacing, I might add). The best part, of course, was that the penguin was toasting my cookies on a custom map of the house we were living in... complete with destructable countertops and a guy named Josh who would suddenly jump out every once in a while and eat your pizza.

[New Look... Plus New Feature: ACTUALLY WRITING THINGS]
Wow! Mathcaddy.com has a new look! Wow! It's amazing! It's... it's.... hmm... it's kind of dull. Yep. That's right folks. It's back to dullsville. "Why?" Might you ask. Good question, you! To which I might respond, "Uh... I thought it was lame to have the same crap on the side thingies and I couldn't think of anything new or exciting to add on to them... plus, as I just mentioned regarding removing PhotoMojo, I couldn't figure the stupid thing out enough to make it work like I wanted it to." I know, I know. That was one heck of a long and winding sentence. To which I might respond, "Bite me."
Also, regarding the New Feature: "ACTUALLY WRITING THINGS" -- Ohhhkayyyy.... so... I haven't exactly been "Mr. Regular" on my own stinking web site that I spend hard earned cash to host [$200 per year for hosting services!! <-- shameless PayPal donation plug] Good thing my wife is a chemical engineer! Ha ha ha ha! Oh crap. She's not?? Dangit. If that's so, I better get my money's worth. And yes, folks. I plan to. I have set high expectations for myself and I plan to make some kind of postage every single stinking weekday. (postage?)
So, there you have it. I don't know if anyone else is going to post anything. But I sure am. I'm going to post like crazy. You could practically call me UPS, which means something that has the word Parcel in it, which is kind of like postage, which is somewhat related to posting things on a web site, primarily because "postage" and "post" share four of the same letters... those letters being, "post." It's easy to miss if you aren't a detail oriented sort of folk. Don't worry about it. You'll get 'em next time, tiger.

[Adios PhotoMojo...]
Sorry, folks. No more PhotoMojo until I can get it working how I'd like (which would be so that anyone could log into a second blog and post only pictures to the site as inserted mid-quality thumbnail images linked to larger pics. I know it's a pipe dream but someday no it's not. People do it all the time. Take this guy for example. Maybe I should just call him and say, "Hey, dude, how do I do that thing already? I mean, c'mon. This has gone on far too long. You know what I mean?" Perhaps he'd hang up. But it would all be okay because I also have his work phone.

[Haha, I'm poor]
First of all, thanks to everyone for signing the guestbook. I'll make sure that's one of the first things Tamlyn learns to read. Maybe. In any case, today I tried to sign up for poor people's healthcare for kids. It turns out that every state has a program for the poor (me) that covers all the medical bills of children up until the age of 18. No, I fib, up until 5. The catch?? You have to be poor. Not just poor guys, poooooor. Like, making $1200 a month with a wife, a newborn, and rent at $900, insurance at $100, telephone ... ya, poor. But dammit, my kid's gonna have the best looking teeth and skin your money can buy. Seriously though, thanks to everyone for paying their taxes. Some of that money is used for the forces of good. Captain Poverty out.
