WOW!! I got the Polyphonic Spree Album today - it's Grrreat! It's just the fullest, coolest, most amazing sound ever! Everyone in the world needs to go get it. The mix of "Soldier Girl" is awesome on the 4-track CD that comes with it.

Combine poeple in white robes, singing three part harmony, with a beatles elenor rigby and beach boys pet sounds vibe. Metacritic likes em.

HA HA!! That's funny. I don't listen to the radio... ever. And I don't think they play it here anyway. Here's my story with the All-American Rejects... In October 2002's CMJ New Music magazine, they wrote a review for the All-American Rejects. CMJ said it was among "The Best New Music" for that month. I have never - EVER - bought/downloaded a CD recommended by CMJ and been disappointed. Even more, they compared them to Jimmy Eat World and "rowdier" Ben Folds Five.

Well, all of that sold me on finding their music... but I couldn't download it anywhere. And I couldn't find it for sale anywhere. And I kept looking ... and looking... and looking... I eventually gave up and forgot about it... and then just a week ago, I see it - on display! - at Best Buy... so I got it. Having never heard the song on the radio, I guess I had a chance to like them before I had a chance to hate them. Tough luck, A.junior. It's good stuff. I really like most of the whole CD... In fact, going back to that review, it does remind me a great deal of the Jimmy Eat World album.

If you're tired of "Swing Swing", check out "Your Star", "Paper Heart", "Happy Endings", "One More Sad Song", or "Don't Leave Me". Okay, it may not be as artistically deep as Fountains of Wayne... but it's darn fun. I always play FIFA 2003 while listening to this album and the two New Photographers albums.

Okay, done with that... on to more important things. The new Guster CD is great-- although quite different. More electric guitar and standard drums than their earlier albums. "Keep it Together," "Amsterdam," and "Backyard" are completely stuck in my head 24/7.

Spoon's great... I've got 3 of their albums.

Metacritic.com loves the Mars Volta album. Maybe I'll check it out.

I didn't get into Interpol as much as the reviews suggested I would. I did enjoy the songs, but they didn't last for me. Kind of like the Hives. Fun... but just didn't stick.

Who's Polyphonic Spree? What are they like? They're the only band I've never heard of you mentioned.

And I'm not kidding, dude. Get the new Grandaddy album. It's SAW-Wheat!

Cds that I have listened to through and through and they are amazing:
Sparta - Wiretap Scars
An early Spoon release, the one with "Advance Cassette", I love that song
Alaska! - Emotions
Space Twins - End of Imaging (RUN to Spacetwins.com and order this, it's Brain Bell's ((guitarist for Weezer)) band, its AMAZING!!!)
Mars Volta - de-loused in the comatorium (Half of ATDI, the ones with the afros, flea on BASS!!)
Vendetta Red - Between the never and the now (Seattle band that just had their release nation wide)
Interpol - Turn on the Bright Lights (Genius! mixture of talking heads with 80's new wave and three guitar players)
Ours - Precious (probably one of the greatest rock songs crafted "Realize")

Cds Im looking to get SOON:

Fountains of Wayne- the new one
Guster - the new one as well
Polyphonic Spree
Radiohead
Loudermilk - The Red Record (both copies got stolen by Ex-girlfriends!)
The Postal Service - Death Cab for Cutie side project

Spoon is coming to Town!!!

Adam Brault,
All-AMerican Rejects? You're kidding right? That Swing Swing song is annoying, maybe it's because I heard it ten million times on the radio in Seattle.
