Stupid Baby Names
I think everyone has the right to name their kid whatever stupid name they want. And I have the right to point out how stupid they are. Found this stupid one at our OB’s office: Tyghler. yughck. Thaght ighs so stupighd. It’s like Eric -> Eryghc? Poor fughking kid. Not you Eric. Tyghler. Poor Tyghler.

Computer = Suck???

As long as we’re looking at the progression of computer performance, i thought i’d do a little comparison of my own

Perspective = On:
Then: In early 1998, Dan and Eric secretly rejoice at the demise of Eric’s 486 laptop. This thing was awesome: 16MB of RAM, and a 314 MB harddrive. I put two mp3s on it, even though I had no sound card, and only enough harddrive space for 2 mp3s. The reason? My harddrive was being hogged by useless programs, such as Windows 95. At this point, Eric went out and bought a “top-of-the-line” (read: crap) Pentium celeron 366 with 64 MB of RAM and 6GB harddrive. GET OUT MY WAY!!!! Yeah!
Now: I have a top-of-the-line Pentium celeron 366 with 192 MB of RAM and a 40GB harddrive. And a CD-burner. BOOM!!!! Where you at now??? My computer can officially start Windows (XP!) in 10 minutes flat. However, it is slowly being moved out by my Toshiba Portege 3500 Tablet PC. Hooray for the stylus touch screen!

However, I must say that i’ve been spending less and less time on my computer. The reason? I’ve been playing Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past on my Xbox. How, might you ask? Well, the answer, my friend, can be found here. Special thanks to Collin for helping me figure out how do do this crap.

EZExpo and stuff

The 300th person needs 9,000 people to sign up…so you’re telling me there’s a chance, right?

Well I’ve decided to put some of my hard-earned graduation money towards upgrading my computer. This has been prompted primarily by the upcoming release of URU. Though no system specs have been released yet, I have a feeling that if I tried running it now, the AMD K6-III 450 based system I wielded throughout most of my college days will take a dump on my shoe.

Just to put things in perspective:
Then: 7 or 8 years ago Eric and I rejoiced as my then-computer displayed a tuff 88MB of RAM at startup. My harddrive at the time was 500MB.
Now: I’ll have 2GB of RAM out of a supported 4GB. But my harddrive is still only 500MB. Crapcan.

Geeeek!

Well, looks like the original site made it more difficult to get the file. In case you didn’t subject yourself to the ridiculous conditions to download the movie, I found it hosted elsewhere on the web here. Again, it’s the file “Star_Wars_Kid_Remix.wmv”. Also be sure to check out the other movies in this directory.
